From our grandparents’ roots in Maypearl, Texas in 1955 to the backyard cookouts we grew up with, sharing good food has always been how we stayed connected. As life has changed, that tradition has stayed steady.

Where It All Began

1955

The Start of Something Lasting

Our story begins long before Bearded BBQ had a name.

In 1955, our grandparents settled in the quiet country town of Maypearl, Texas. They built their lives around simple values—family, hard work, faith, and strong relationships with the people around them. Neighbors mattered. Time together mattered. And food was always part of the picture.

1980s–2000s

Growing Up Around the Grill

Through the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s, our family and friends grew up in that same town.

Our parents had people over often—nothing fancy, just casual get-togethers filled with good food and good conversation. And even on quieter nights, our dad was outside grilling steaks at least once a week. It wasn’t an event. It was just what we did.

Late 2000s

Finding Our Own Rhythm

As we stepped into early adulthood, things stayed pretty simple.

Weekends meant grilling, cold drinks, and unwinding with family and friends. After long weeks of work, those backyard evenings became the best way to reset and reconnect. Over time, they turned into something we genuinely relied on—not just for food, but for balance.

2010s to Today

Growing Families, Lasting Traditions

As the years passed, families grew, careers took off, and life got busier.

But the rhythm never changed.

The friends who were there in the early days are still here. New friends joined along the way—many becoming just as close as family. Kids grew up around the same grills. Stories kept getting told. Traditions kept getting passed down.

That’s the fire Bearded BBQ is built on.
