Quick Questions
How much rub should I use?
For brisket and larger cuts, apply a generous coating — about 1 tablespoon per pound. For steaks and smaller cuts, a moderate dusting on both sides works best. When in doubt, go heavier. The rub creates your bark.
Should I apply rub the night before?
For brisket and pork, yes — overnight in the fridge helps the salt penetrate and season the meat. For steaks and poultry, 30 minutes to 2 hours before cooking is ideal.
What’s the shelf life?
Stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, our seasonings stay fresh for 18-24 months. But honestly, if it lasts that long, you’re not using enough.
Which rub should I start with?
Our All Purpose rub is the workhorse — great on everything from brisket to burgers. If you’re a beef purist, start with the Steak blend. For competition-style bark, the BBQ rub is your go-to.
Great BBQ Starts Before The Smoke
The difference between good and legendary is in the details. Start with the right rub.
